Whistle&Fizz: the most sustainable cafe on campus
Want to learn about the new cafe on NYU’s campus using LifeCycle Hospitality's paper SeaStraws? Whistle & Fizz is a shop that focuses on serving the best quality coffee and loose leaf tea with a modern twist. On the menu are classics such as cappuccinos, lattes, and their original drinks like nitro mango whistle and cold brew lemonade.
The shop’s location makes it a frequent stop among college students. For many, Whistle&Fizz has become a favorite for daily coffee and tea runs before class. NYU junior Amanda Brandt says, “they serve amazing oat lattes.” And NYU sophomore Ksenia Danilowicz shared: “I love the shop's proximity to campus and that they offer pretty innovative drinks. Also, they have great coffee, and the price/quality ratio is good.”
Today, young adults often value in business their commitment to sustainability. And Whistle&Fizz recognizes that. The shop shared that they have received requests from the community for sustainable options. Whistle&Fizz serves organic, fair-trade Stumptown coffee, and the shop’s tea is supplied by TeaSource, a company that supports the local farmers behind tea-sourcing. Moreover, the shop’s customers can purchase reusable steel straw kits.
Partnering with SeaStraws helps Whistle&Fizz to engage in the no-plastic movement. According to the shop’s founder Jamie, “paper SeaStraws allow us to provide more sustainable options to our customers. They are the best we have tested out.” Whistle&Fizz has been using our compostable paper straws since they have opened their doors, and we are happy our product left a positive impact on their business.
